2008 Stock Market Game/Hoof and Claw

Registration Form...

*** Please Review: After School Activities Guidelines & Registration Policy ***

The CLES PTA sponsored Hoof and Claw (Stock Market Game) after school activity is a rewarding “real world” creative problem solving opportunity. Young investors in this class will be participating in the state-wide Stock Market Game to see who can make the most money in 10 weeks. Each team will be set up with a simulated on-line account with $100,000. They will use this "money" to buy and sell stocks regularly traded on the NYSE and NASDAQ. Everything is real except the money!

There is a regional awards ceremony for teams that win 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize so we'll be learning everything we can about stocks and investing. We'll also be learning about interest rates, loans and savings accounts. We hope you'll join us - it's never too early to learn about money! This is a ten week class, after school (3:35pm – 4:35pm), on Thursday’s, only for CLES students in 4th and 5th grade. The class will be taught by Ms. Epstein. The cost is $104.00 per student (limited to 24 students). This includes a $4 non-refundable registration fee. Checks should be made payable to the CLES PTA.

All after school activities are required to have a second adult present in order for the class to be held. If there is not a second adult the class will be cancelled. A class discount of 50% will be offered to one parent for their student who agrees to this commitment. Please read the posted information on the CLES PTA website for after school activity procedures, the registration process, and Q&A at www.clespta.org.

***Class Dates are: 3/13/08, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10, 4/17, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, and 5/29.

Registration for this class will begin with a CLES PTA Member priority registration on 2/21/08. Please see the CLES PTA website for more detailed information on this process. Membership priority registration will end on 2/27/08. If there is still space available registration will continue for all CLES families until 3/7/08.
