PTA MEETING MINUTES
Executive Board    September 2, 2009
PTA Goals and Objectives
  1.        To promote parent, teacher, and community involvement in the CLES PTA; to encourage more members to  participate in CLES PTA activities and committees.

  2.       To monitor the changing issues that affect CLES and the CLES student body, including, but not limited to, redistricting, budget issues and HCPSS policies and to be advocates for the CLES community.

  3.      To obtain at least one CLES PTA membership from 90% or more of the CLES families.

  4. To promote a “sense of community” within CLES by providing an outlet for community social opportunities.
  5.     To ensure that PTA volunteer work is FUN and REWARDING so that we maintain a motivated, active, positive organization.

  6.      To enrich and support the educational experience of the CLES students.

2011/2012 REFLECTIONS THEME

"DIVERSITY MEANS . . . "

Congratulations to the following students whose artwork was selected to represent CLES at
the County level. The 2011-12 CLES Reflections winning entries in each category:

Primary Category (K-2):
• Visual Arts: Francesca Cumello, Rebecca Lassman, and Olivia Roh
• Literature: Jason Matthew and Riya Raikar
• Photography: Riya Raikar
• Music: Rebecca Lassman

Intermediate Category (3-5):
• Visual Arts: Maggie Ju, Malika Shah, and Alan Wang
• Literature: Casey Clark, Henry Bar-Or, Arash Izadyar
• Photography: Madeline Harris, Abigail Sartore, and Lauren Stipe
• Music: Tommy Lee, Ben Nagle, and Hannah Souba

Then, participate in 2011-2012 PTA’s Reflections Program.  It's not too early to work on an entry for this year's Reflections program.  Reflections is a nationwide arts recognition and achievement programsponsored by the PTA  in which all cles students are eligible to participate.  It gives every student the opportunity to create a work of art based on a specific theme and to feel good about it.  

This year's theme is Diversity Means....; and there are six arts areas in which students may participate as noted above:

We encourage every student to enter .  
All parents and students should read the General Guidelines below.  

ENTRIES MUST BE RETURNED BY NOVEMBER 4, 2011
(
PLEASE NOTE:  due to the Professional Work Day on November 4th, we encourage your children to submit their entries by Thursday November 3rd but we will accept entries on Monday November 7th as well.)
Each child that submits an entry will be invited to a Reflections recognition event at CLES in January. The top 3 entries in each category and within each division (K-2 and 3-5) will move on to be judged at the County Level.
