New Moon Theater (web site) presents The Adventures of the Opera Explorers.

Experience the thrill of discovery as our heroes Captain Confident and Miss Newbie go where others are afraid to go and find out why opera is a great way to tell a story. By hearing live excerpts from operatic masterpieces, children learn about one of western civilization’s great art forms.

New Moon Theater (web site) presents Tall Tales of the Wild West.

Saddle up for a hilarious ride through American Folklore. Characters such as Paul Bunyon, Pecos Bill and Annie Christmas overcome impossible challenges in their own uniquely silly ways. This show teaches students that with a little effort, anything is possible.

Magician/Illusionist Joe Romano (web site) presents Books: The Magic is Real!

Popular Children’s books ranging from Harry Potter to the Cat in the Hat are brought to life in this exciting magic show!

Jan. 8 All Grades

*Instrumental Jazz Trio Unified Jazz (web site) presents Learning About Jazz.

This program celebrates the birth and development of jazz from Dixieland, swing and be-bop, to contemporary, highlighting contributors such as Dizzie Gillespie, Duke Ellington and George Gershwin.

Feb. 19 All Grades

Storyteller Linda Fang (web site) presents Chinese Sticky Rice and the Chinese New Year.

In this program students will gain insight into the Chinese culture through witty, humorous and heartwarming stories about the Chinese New Year celebration, from its origins to its traditions and food.

Mar. 7 All Grades

Native Brazilian storyteller Antonio Rocha (web site) presents Jungle Tales.

Using physical theater, storytelling, masks and sound effects, Antonio Rocha brings to life the sights, sounds and inhabitants of the rainforest. His stories foster an appreciation of the Brazilian culture and the diversity and importance of the rainforest.

Apr. 17 All Grades

Footworks (web site) Percussive Dance Ensemble presents Incredible Feets.

Footworks conveys the joy of dance through an historical and multicultural view of various American percussive dances. The program includes live fiddle music, American clogging, as well as French Canadian stepdance and South African bootdance.
